Biography

My art career started as a result of necessity! Needing some extra money when my children were young, I went to the Manager of the Thunderbird Hotel

on the beach in Treasure Island, Florida to ask if I could draw and sell portraits by the pool. He said "yes" so after making four charcoal drawings of friends for display, I set up for my first morning. Selecting a small boy and offering to do his portrait for free, I stood in front of the easel, my hand shaking so badly I thought the charcoal would fall out.... half way through, his father asked if I would draw the rest of his family. I walked out that afternoon with $45.00 in hand and a new career. Hundreds of portraits later I had the good fortune to study for 4 years with two well known Sculptors producing many marble and steel sculptures including some now in the collection of the City of Clearwater & Treasure Island Florida, Disney, and several Corporations throughout the country.

Seventeen years later in 1991, I returned to painting starting a series called, "Colors of Pass-a-Grille". For the past 13 years, I've painted at the small beachside cafe, Seaside Grille and over 16,000 prints have been sold going all over the world. If you would like to view some of these prints, please see
